Pegasus Psychotherapists
Pegasus Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy is a group of independent psychotherapists who have undertaken a rigorous training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy accredited by the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP). The ACP is recognised by the Department of Health for accreditation of UK trainings in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. All have worked within NHS or local authority Child and Family Services and are accountable to the ACP code of ethics.
Marie Bradley is a consultant child and adolescent psychotherapist in a CAMHS/NSPCC inner city team. She has a special interest/expertise in working with children in need and children in care; she is researching collaborative work between child psychotherapy and the network around this group of children and she consults to many Local Authorities concerning their emotional care. She teaches and supervises in a training capacity within child psychotherapy and with other disciplines. She has a private practice with children, adolescents and adults.
Lawrence Brown trained at the Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP) in work with adults and with children and adolescents. He has worked in a variety of statutory and voluntary settings including the Croydon Psychiatric Service and the Kingsbury Child Guidance Centre. He was head of department in individual counselling with the Westminster Pastoral Foundation. He has held a number of posts within the SAP including Chair of Council and was Honorary Secretary of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BCP). Until September 2010 he taught and supervised in St Petersburg, Russia, under the auspices of the International Association for Analytical Psychology. He has served Pegasus as convenor since its inception. He works in private practice with adults, children and adolescents.
Jennifer Browner trained as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist at the British Association of Psychotherapists (BAP). She has worked for a number of years within residential therapeutic childcare and therapeutic foster care organisations and is currently Principal Child Psychotherapist at the Mulberry Bush School. She also has experience and interest in parent-infant work and teaches Infant Observation. She is not currently in private practice.
Gerry Byrne works in the NHS as a Consultant Nurse and Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist (Tavistock) and has a small private practice. He is an honorary principal lecturer at Oxford Brookes University and a tutor on the Psychoanalytic Infant Observation Course in Oxford.
Harriet Calvert is a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with the British Association of Psychotherapists (BAP). She is also an Adult Psychoanalyst (British Psychoanalytic Association, International Psychoanalytic Association), and a Chartered Psychologist (British Psychological Society). Her special interests include, work with children of mentally ill parents, and work with trauma victims, in several cultures. She travels regularly to Sri Lanka as a member of the UK-Sri Lanka Trauma group to provide mental health training to professionals working with traumatised children and families. She has a private practise in Iver, Bucks, working with both children and adults, as well as working for the NHS in Maidenhead at the CAMHS clinic.
Lonnie Gross trained in counselling and psychotherapy at the Westminster Pastoral Foundation, and in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. She works as a Child and Adolescent psychotherapist in a CAMHS Clinic and has a private practice in Oxford. She has a special interest in children in the autistic spectrum and those with other developmental disorders, and has developed multifamily groups for children and parents. She has worked for many years with local authorities providing therapy for children and supervision for social workers.
Gisele Mendonca is a child psychotherapist living in Oxford and works for Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Mental Health Trust in Banbury and Witney. She has been particularly interested in the Looked After Children sector as she worked previously for the LAC Services within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Wolverhampton.'
Caryn Onions trained as a child and adolescent psychotherapist at the British Association of Psychotherapists (BAP). She is Head of the Psychotherapy Department at the Mulberry Bush School near Oxford, and consultant clinician, supervisor and trainer for OXPIP (the Oxford Parent-Infant Project). She teaches on the child training at the BAP and consults to other professionals working in the field of child and adolescent mental health.
Judith Rassmann trained as a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist at The Anna Freud Centre. She currently works for The Children’s Society – Harbour Project, which is a school-based mental health project for asylum-seeking children, young people and their families in Oxford. She has experience of working in a variety of voluntary and statutory settings in both Germany and the UK. She is not currently in private practise.
Hilary Wright trained as a child and adolescent psychotherapist at the Tavistock Centre in London whilst working for the NHS in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) and Specialist CAMHS teams. She also works as a parent-infant therapist for OXPIP (the Oxford Parent-Infant Project) and is studying part-time for a Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at the Tavistock.
Simon Boots trained as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with the British Association of Psychotherapists (BAP). He currently works for an Independent fostering agency in Buckinghamshire and London. Simon has a variety of experience in adult and children's mental health services and is particularly interested in work with children looked after. He is also a seminar leader on the BAP 's Doctoral training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and is in private practice.
Laura Piddington is a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist who trained at the Tavistock Centre in London. She works in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team (CAMHS) for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Trust. She can offer consultation to professionals, parent-infant work, as well as work individually with children of all ages and work with parents as required.
